My Favorite Adventures at Franklin Posts

Welcome back or welcome to Adventures at Franklin! In this post, I take a look back at some of my favorite posts. My name's Asa, and I'm the current writer of this blog (as of 3 weeks ago). This blog was a huge resource for me as an incoming freshman and I'm so happy for the opportunity to write for this blog currently and into the near future. However just as we should consider the future, I think it's just as important to look back and think about how we have gotten to where we are now.  Adventures at Franklin is 7 years old, as of 22 February 2020. Silly me, forgot to mention this on my post (about things to do during a long weekend) that I published that day. Nonetheless, happy belated 7th birthday Adventures at Franklin! Here are some of my favorite posts over the years and a few words about them.  22 February 2013: Welcome!   https://adventuresatfranklin.fus.edu/2013/02/test-post-3.html Obviously,  I have to start at the beginning, all the way bac...

Hello, Fall 2015!

Driving near campus in Lugano.  Hello there and welcome back to Franklin! I certainly am feeling emotional about this being my fourth and last year here in Lugano. I wanted to come back here early this fall and participate in Orientation  and it was so lovely to get to meet all of the new students to listen to their fresh perspectives and be able to answer some of the many questions they had. It's a great group of adventurous, smart, and kind students and they are all a welcome addition to Franklin! For me, this year will personally be a combination of finishing strong academically, going deeper with the relationships that have made Franklin the best years of my life, and hopefully findi...

Class of 2017, I have some exciting news for you.. In less than one month you will arrive at Franklin College in Switzerland!!  + insert excited squeals  + I hope that everyone is looking forward to a new start, new friends, a new country and most of all.. NEW ADVENTURES. One year ago I had never been to Europe and I will admit, I was a little bit terrified to leave my friends and family back home.  But I am so grateful I took that leap of faith and ended up at school here! In my first year alone I have  had the opportunity to go on two great academic travels covering 6 countries. I spent most of those travels with my jaw dropped, in awe of the beauty + culture + history I was surrounded by. Yet somewhere along the way I inadvertently managed to capture a great many snippets of adventures through iphone videos. Full disclaimer: I am no video expert. But at the end of the year I decided to try my hand at editing, compiled all those amateur videos, and this was th...
