Spring events on campus!
This semester has flown by, filled with a myriad of fun events which have been packing Franklin students' schedule tight.
Holi: Festival of Colors
My absolute favorite Franklin event is Holi, the Indian celebration of colors, meant to ring in spring and celebrate life. This year's festivities were no exception -- it was an incredible event which a majority of the student body turned out for!

Lovely ladies representing Switzerland, Brazil, the U.S., Greece, and Saudi Arabia!
TedX Lugano
Another recent successful spring event was the third annual TEDx Lugano, which attracted a host of Franklin faces, as well as local Lugano residents. This TEDx event focused was themed "Future Wealth" and some of Franklin's very own professors were speakers at this amazing event on campus. The speakers at the event included medical visionaries, designers, international explorers, inventors and thinkers pioneering their respective fields, culminating in a fantastic and learned event which Franklin was proud to host.
A very full crowd of interested participants!

Vagina Monologues
Another spring event that I love is the Vagina Monologues, which is an episodic play that celebrates women's sexuality and strength. I have watched many friends perform their pieces at this beloved event for the past four years, and it's an amazing performance to watch.
I love to watch the Franklin community come out to celebrate our diverse female student body, as well as women everywhere. This event involves funny, sad, honest, serious, happy and playful skits which are selected, or written, by the women of Franklin.

The auditorium was packed full of Franklin students who turned out to support this event. Vagina Monologues is another example of a Franklin event which embodies the strong and dynamic community students have worked hard to create here. The women of VM rehearse and practice all semester long to create the event, and it encompasses all ages of Franklin women, as well. Seniors take charge in orchestrating the event, and the production's responsibilities is handed down year by year by graduating Franklin senior women. Franklin Senior Skylar Kraatz took led the production this year, and led the rehearsals and final production with charisma, positivity, and admirable organizational skills!
The entire crew!
It's definitely a busy time on campus, and it's so fun to have so many activities to participate in to take a break from finals preparation. It was bittersweet to have all of these events be the "last" Franklin events for me, but it was also such a treat to see how excited the underclassmen are to continue the traditions and make them their own. Now, I look forward to graduation week ceremonies, taking place in just about a week!
Until next time, Morgan
